 FAQ - Fitting Window Blinds & Shutters fitting London and UK

FITTING OPTIONS

By Recess we mean blinds installed within the window opening (inside the recess). You supply us your exact recess measurements (width & drop) and we will custom make. For Wooden Venetians we will deduct 12mm from the width, Rollers 20mm and for Cellular we will deduct 9mm from the width so that the blind will fit into the recess when brackets are affixed.

By Blind Size, this is when you want your blinds to hang outside the recess. You supply us with the exact width & drop measurements for where you would like the blind to cover. The width & drop of the blind specified by you will be overall blind size and will be made exactly to the size specified with no allowance made by us.

By fabric Size (roller blinds only), you supply the width and drop dimensions that you want the actual fabric to cover. The overall blind will be an additional 2.8cm - 3.3cm to the overall width to allow for fittings at either end of the blind.

Most our customers come from:  Central London, North London, South London, West London and East London.

VALANCE OPTIONS

Standard Valance, we supply you with a valance that is exactly the width of the blind plus 10mm. If the Recess option has been selected, then the valance will be the "width" -12mm (to allow for brackets etc) +10mm (to cover the brackets & fixings).

Mitred Returns, we supply you with a front valance plus two sides that have been cut to fit over the side of the blind headrail. You would generally order mitred returns for an outside fixing and/or sash windows where you can see the side of the blind/bracket. The mitred returns cover the fixings for a better finish.

Uncut Valance, we supply 2 mitred returns and a valance that is over long, you can then cut this on site to provide a perfect fit. You would generally order an uncut valance where 2 blinds or more meet, such as non sash Bay windows, providing a continuous valance.

How much tolerance should I allow when measuring the drop for Lumberjack Blinds?
The gap between the slats is 35mm and the strings can stretch a little after installation. So please allow for a tolerance of up to 35mm.

What size is the headrail on Lumberjack Blinds?
Depth = 61mm
Height = 41mm

HOW ACCURATE ARE THE COLOUR SWATCHES?

Whilst every effort is made to ensure blinds match swatches, however dye batches from our manufacturers may vary slightly from time to time. We cannot guarantee an exact match even on our samples unless paint finished, as wood is a natural material and does vary slightly in grain and shade although we are very accurate with our stains.
